Having been a newspaper editor for 10 years, I agree with your observations. I think 24x7 broadcasts contribute to the breakdown between news and opinion. When space and time are limited, you're forced to set boundaries and to sift the important and compelling. Now, "news" that isn't even news fills the air because the show must go on.
Dennis, we belonged to a Nazarene church near Seattle in the 90’s. We grew a lot there and our kids were raised there. Loved those folks. Thank you for sharing. It was very encouraging.
Amen Stephen. As a side note, I’m glad to see that Elon Musk’s purchase and overhaul of the sewer of Twitter has many on the left threatening to leave the platform, as if anyone cares. Twitter unfortunately has a huge impact on the online community, since that’s where many hang out. So perhaps this will curb a bit of the fake news out there. Meanwhile we will continue to spread the genuine, live giving news of Jesus Christ.
No matter how I present the Gospel, his reply is all about his identity - "Hey, hey with the Monkees." While I get his life has been consumed with show business, some people can't let go of an image - not even for Jesus.
In the 1960's I began to notice that all news was reported with a socialist viewpoint. This was quite disturbing. Yes, we need to sharpen our thinking and discernment skills!

Thanks Dennis. I would love to hear your story sometime.
I'd like to hear yours, too. How can we make it happen?
There are tidbits and hints scattered throughout my writings but here’s one biggie of mine. Something I was gifted with from a very young age. https://open.substack.com/pub/jrichardson/p/hitting-things-with-sticks
Thanks, Jim. Interesting read. Here's my bio from my website. https://bygreenpastures.com/?page_id=120

Fake news is no news at all. Discernment is at a all-time low. In fact, discernment is impossible without the indwelling mind of Jesus Christ.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I heard from Micky Dolenz [Monkees] yesterday. That guy never gives up.
What did he say?

Hmm, that’s a shame but not unexpected. Keep planting and watering ( I know you always do).
Me too. Now, to get him to buy YouTube. Lol.
Oh yes. Clean that puppy up too.
