From my archives of September 23, 2012, if you can believe it:
Time to stimulate some wholesome thinking. First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. (2 Peter 3)
Can anyone say: Noah's Ark!
Welcome to the 'me' generation: Where people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God....always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. (2 Timothy 3)
As for the current state of mind for many in America, I would say this is pretty spot on. Simply turn on cable television or explore the wisdom of this world on the always available internet if you doubt this. God wants to bless America, but how can He when we shut Him out and tune Him out?
Solution: Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne. (2 Corinthians 4:18)
Spring is here and along with it great beauty faithfully blooming across our nation for those who care to take notice.
