Opining comes first, parody second:
I loved (most of) my teachers during my primary school education, especially my creative writing teacher. Those days were, for the most part, computer free as well as social agenda free. I mention these two in tandem for it seems the invention of one has enabled the proliferation of the other. Our classrooms back in the day were considered safe spaces by nature and very much “analog”. We held used books in our hands and were responsible for personally toting them here and there. Today it’s “green” laptops all the way. Sure, I’m biased towards the way things used to be but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. I’ll take the acrid smell of used books over the eye straining blue light of computer screens any day. It’s troubling to know that these very computers are connected to some form of the internet. The internet can be considered a good and bad thing, at the very least a very dangerous place to hang out if you happen to point your browser in a dubious direction. This is why public libraries have site search limitations. Personal computers use by children rarely do. Opine concluded.
Support your local schoolroom teachers if you are able. Volunteer for your child’s classroom events when they become available. Be part of the solution when problems arise. But most importantly, do not be ignorant of your child’s homework and find out what they are learning. I guarantee it differs depending on which part of the country you live in.
Well, that’s my view anyway. Now on to the fun stuff. I’ve observed some very clever, self explanatory classroom illustration as of late. May I share them with you?
Learn the classics. You’d parents did and they turned out ok, well most of them did anyway.
Learn economics at a young age where possible. Know where money flows and why. As some business leaders have already learned the hard way, go woke and go broke.
The three R’s is what our children need to learn for they will certainly use them for the entirety of their lives. Basic education = freedom and independence. The other nonsense is just that, here today and forgotten tomorrow.
Be grateful for free speech in America and dubious of those who like to ban certain words and phrases.
Every school should have armed resource officers these days in my opinion. Unfortunate reality, but the world, she is a changin’ and not for the better, certainly in respect to personal safety.
Schools should be a safe place for children and teaches. The adults lording over them need to work harder to accomplish this.
With parents holding down several jobs and both working in most cases, it’s our children who suffer the most. Forget blaming, let’s fix this now. Our kids are the future. Moreover someday they will be in charge…of us!
In fact, why even go to school since every bit of information we’ll ever need can be found in our IPhone. Not a problem at all.
Until of course, the power goes out.
Indeed, a proper, well rounded, and safe education is what our parents got, what we got, and what our children should also get. Nuff said.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10,

THIS is what offends me which is happening more and more often. WHO is doing this and what right do they have to do it? Leave the original alone, if audiences are offended by it, let them be able to make the decision nor to read it: Agatha Christie novels are being rewritten: Author's Poirot and Miss Marple mysteries have had original passages reworked or removed by publishers to avoid offending modern audiences.

I love it. Particularly the teacher's gift of a gun holster. How true to life is that? Your article reminded me of the story a parent sent me of a video of their daughter praying to Google Speak. Hum, has technology gone too far? Or have our parents lost their parental responsibility to "train up their children in the Lord?" Nothing like the smell of an old Bible.
