When I was a child, seemingly centuries ago, I loved eating at McDonalds. Is actually tasted good back then. Was this an illusion or reality? Or do you and I simply have waning taste buds? The world may never know. As the years have passed, quality, price and service seem to have veered in opposite directions. That much is certain.
I admit I love a good cheeseburger, probably more than my own good arterial health. But hey, what’s the saying these days- YOLO! So I still indulge on a frequent basis. I reason that my body would go into shock without my burger regimen therefore I press on, lol. As for you the reader, eat more fruit and salad.🥗
The only reasonably priced fast food burger I have found ‘round here is Steak & Shake. Heard of them? They still offer a burger and fries for $3.99. Beat that McDonalds! And it actually tastes pretty decent. I’ve tried Burger King (yuck), Krystal (never again) Hardee’s (heart attack city) and a few others. Prices through the roof, quality down the tubes, with questionable, impersonal service at best.
What are burger lovers nationwide to do? There’s a place called Shady Glen in Connecticut which does amazing things with cheese. Dicks Hamburgers in Seattle, oh now I really miss that place. And all they served were burgers, fries, and shakes. This was good enough for the multitudes for the line was practically down the street and the prices, well they were more than reasonable. But I’m not there, I’m here.🤔
I guess the solution is to just make burgers at home the old fashioned way, on the outdoor grill. It’s PB&J’s for lunch then. Dang that inflation anyway.
