When an astronomer peers through his or her telescope and observes eight lifeless rocks orbiting our Sun along with billions of other planets in our universe and finds no evidence of a planet as unique as Earth, I would think that they would have to at least consider the possibility of a supernatural, creative work.
Even as a child examining the fragile environment wrapped around this planet we call Earth and its balance of life maintained second by second, I have always been compelled to acknowledge that it was all created with purpose and intent. Of this I have zero doubt. Earth is by no means some random explosion of elements which, supposedly over a period of billions of years, happened to evolve into this remarkable blue, fragile planet we call home. Consider also the reality of living creatures with DNA so complex that it staggers the mind to think it could have been some cosmic crap shoot of chance. No amount of time would lend itself in support of the arguments of popular humanistic evolutionary claims.
Honestly, I really can’t comprehend folks who disregard intelligent design in exchange for some random “Big Bang” theory. Look at the Moon, it’s a lifeless, barren rock. Saturn is surrounded by amorphous, deadly gases. Poor Pluto even got demoted to a non-planet altogether. Now examine our home, the Earth. Ah, her beauty. Aboard the International Space Station her stunning blue hue lights up our solar system like no other planet out there.
The theory goes that supposedly this “Big Bang”, suddenly and without warning, thrust previously non-existent matter (pause and think on that a moment) outward in random directions where they formed (all by themselves mind you) planets, worlds, and galaxies. Here on Earth macroevolution then took over which was smart enough to create an incredibly organized biological system over the next billion or so years. This despite the reality of the second law of thermodynamics which posits that order cannot originate from disorder. Ahem. And this phenomenon happened only on Earth, you must understand. Sadly, all other lifeless rocks will need to wait their evolutionary turn as they are still….well, quite lifeless. What’s taking time and chance so long? Moreover, who “coded” this evolutionary process anyway, hmm? Ever ponder that? Nothing goes from dumb to smart without outside influence. Go ahead, try that with your kids.
What do I believe with every fiber of my being? Simple:
For in Christ all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. Colossians 1:16, For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4
Scripture says that anyone seeking truth concerning the science of origins, has creation itself as ‘a priori’ evidence of the existence of a transcendental creator/sustainer: Romans 1:20- ‘Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities- His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.’ Careful you scientists, things are not always as they seem.
Any person reading this has so many incomparable reasons for faith in our Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ, as we live our lives as visitors enjoying a brief moment in this particular corridor of time.
Let us not waste a single moment.
