Yet another thought from my brain to yours. Thank you for continuing to bear with my random ramblings.
Loss can come in many forms. The loss of a job, a friend, a loved one, a valuable possession, a reputation, a failed relationship, the list is endless. I imagine the grief endured is most likely in direct proportion to the value of that which was lost. However there are things and then there are people. One replaceable, the other quite priceless.
Loss can be an intensely personal thing. It’s something you may even be afraid or embarrassed to share. Subsequently you may stuff it on the inside only for it to manifest itself in a negative way at a future date. Before that happens seek out your “listening” friends. Those with two ears and one mouth, listening first and then speaking when appropriate. And then hopefully with words of Godly wisdom and encouragement.
Clinging to hope can be a trusted lifeline if the object of your hope can offer just that. Hope from the One who has the power and willingness to give it. The world offers a variety of bandages to protect your wounds which last only a short while. Some even shorter. My hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ as has been many of my family and friends who have already gone home to be with Him. I can’t wait to see them again and of course the object of my hope, the Lord Himself. Without Him, I’ll be the first to admit, I could not cope. I’d be in the loony bin, no offense intended. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 2 Corinthians 5. That right there folks, is the hope I have. Life may feel free to throw me an endless barrage of curve balls, and it will, but I know it will only last for a season. For life is but a vapor. You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes, as do your tribulations.
Giving others the hope that you have, ah, now that’s a blessing all unto itself. And these days it can be accomplished in so many ways. This is especially good for Yours Truly simply because I get easily tongue tied when away from my keyboard.
If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are seed planter, planting the Word of God into the minds of those seeking genuine hope from the misery of loss and emptiness. Thankfully it’s God who waters and gives the increase. A harvest of souls who would have been lost forever were it not for a remnant of faithful witnesses whom God had infinite mercy on.
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to be merry. Luke 15:24

I loved this entry. People get lost in loss. Can you imagine the hopelessness and loss the masses are going to experience moments after the Rapture. This driving force empowers me to share the present-day hope and comfort our beloved Husband, Jesus, offers right now.
