I would love to study the science behind how cords of all sorts become tangled up amongst themselves. How could they have gotten entangled so quickly by merely lying around? And what is the origin of the very first tangle? I can’t find it. What is mankind to do about this phenoninum? Everyone uses cords, therefore it follows logically that eveyone contends with tangled cords, right? This needs to be studied. Not only this but also any supplementary studies on how best to untangle them. This too is an exercise in patience and perseverance all for but a little bit of power.
Speaking of tangled messes, I know you’ve seen this before:
Once we’ve completed the study above I vote we move onto the study of electricity in the modern home and office as it relates to getting the most power possible from one outlet. The extension cord is a convenient means by which to get power where you need it. Sometimes we need it quite far from the nearest available outlet but sometimes that one outlet is simply not enough for our needs. No problem. Just add a power strip….or two…or three. I suppose it may be compelling for some to explore the reality of just how many various items can we plug in before we blow a fuse or start a fire, depending on the age of the equipment and sockets used, of course.
Anyway back to the cords. Did you know that according to evolutionary theory, if one leaves a tangled mess of cords laying around long enough, they will self untangle?
Now that I’d love to see.
Jim
Interesting post. Wonder if this has anything to do with the "missing socks" phenomena. Then there is the field of "string theory".
I'm more convinced that our minds derive from the same source. Great entry! When I first see the tangled mess of cords, I work with many, I say, "How does this happen?" Then I say, "It's demonic." Lol. However, it never fails, an illustration comes to mind. Since I have discipled many of lives through the years, I pour out my life untangling their cords of life. And...sure enough, the next time I see them, what a mess. Jim, I'm convinced, there is a parable in this tangled mess.
I do think I have one of the answers to "how to best untangle them." I temporarily unplug them from the source. Unweave the cord from the tangled mess, then lay the cord out straight. Re-plug the cord into the power source and repeat this madness method on the remaining cords. And then, my favorite part, I bind them together with a Velcro strip, or two. My lesson? We all need to be straightened out & untangled by the Master from time to time. The Velcro, well that is being bound together by the Holy Spirit. However, if the cord is phobic in being bound with other Body members, that is when the great mystery and phenonium unfolds - "O what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" Irony, cords never evolve into untangling themselves. They just gather more evolutionary dust, which proves our point.
